Armaan Malik sang the song "Bum Bum Bole" for the 2007 film "Taare Zameen Par" at the age of 10. Since then, he has built a successful career as a playback singer, independent singer-songwriter, and has collaborated with various artists. Recently, he performed with Ed Sheeran and Marshmello during their India tours. During a recent visit to Bengaluru, Armaan shared his belief in manifesting dreams into reality. He described his journey as a singer, transitioning from a child singer to a teenage pop singer and finally into the Bollywood scene, and shared his aspirations for the future, such as winning a Grammy and collaborating with artists like Charlie Puth, Zedd, and Justin Bieber. Armaan emphasized the importance of being prepared for all opportunities as an artist. He expressed concerns about the music industry's focus shifting towards creating viral hits rather than quality songs, and highlighted the need to protect artists' rights in the face of advancements in technology that can manipulate voices and textures.I find it amusing and also concerning that anyone can use my voice and texture to release a song. It is essential to have regulations in place. While AI can be advantageous, there should be laws safeguarding artists' rights and ensuring that technology does not diminish the genuineness of music. I strongly believe that natural elements like real instruments and musicians should always play a fundamental role in creating music. What is natural should remain so. Collaborations are a fantastic way to merge different worlds, fans, and styles. Working with another artist is thrilling, but the key factor is genuine admiration for that artist. I have several favorite artists whom I would like to collaborate with because I appreciate their music and would cherish the opportunity to create together. Collaborations unite diverse worlds, fans, and styles. The crucial aspect is mutual admiration and passion. Without that energy, a collaboration is unlikely to succeed. I have always admired a long list of artists, and fortunately, I have collaborated with many of them. Collaborating with AR Rahman was a dream come true, showcasing how dreams can manifest into reality. Today, thanks to talent and internet access, a youngster from a remote village can share something exceptional, draw an audience, and become a star. It is a remarkable time for independent music in India. Regarding playback singing, it requires adapting one's vocal style to match the on-screen persona of the actor, offering less creative freedom compared to independent music. It's fascinating how singers can transform themselves like chameleons to suit various roles. A dream came true for me when I sang with Ed Sheeran.Armaan Malik described his experience of performing with Ed Sheeran as humbling. He found Ed Sheeran to be remarkably down-to-earth despite his global fame, a rarity among successful individuals. They had engaging discussions about music, particularly Indian music, and Ed expressed his desire to collaborate with more Indian artists. Their bond grew into a close friendship, and Armaan now regards Ed as a brother. Armaan Malik recently delivered a sold-out performance at Bharatiya City in Bengaluru.
